First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and our practice recommend that your child visit our office by his/her 1st birthday. The visit at this age is less clinical and more educational. This essentially is a "well baby check" for the teeth. At this visit, we will conduct a risk assessment by evaluating family and infant health history. Our competent staff will review diet and nutrition and go over oral healthcare techniques with you.
Your child's first "official visit" should be around age 2 to 3. You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and fun. Talking to your child about their first visit should be positive. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as needle, pull, drill or hurt. The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.
We welcome parents to be with their children during their visit to our office. We want to make your child’s experience a fun and pleasant one!
We strive to make each and every visit to our office a fun one!
